1. Who we are

Agile Tech Guru is operated by Vatsal Shah, an independent consultant. The site at agiletechguru.com serves as a consulting front door and public knowledge library.

2. What data we collect

2.1 Contact form submissions

When you use the contact form we collect: name, email address, company name (optional), subject, and message. We may also collect: referring URL, UTM campaign parameters, and the page you submitted from — to understand how enquiries originate.

2.2 Analytics

We use first-party server-side analytics (stored in our own database) and, if you consent, Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics 4. Server-side analytics collect: page visited, approximate session duration, device type, and geographic region (country-level via IP lookup — the IP address itself is not stored permanently). No cross-site tracking identifiers are used.

2.3 Cookies and localStorage

We set a single session cookie for security (CSRF protection). With your consent we also set an analytics consent preference in localStorage. No third-party advertising cookies are placed.

3. How we use your data

• Contact data: to respond to your enquiry and, with your permission, to follow up on consulting fit.
• Analytics: to understand which content is useful and improve the site experience.
• We do not sell, share, or rent personal data to any third party.

4. Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR)

• Legitimate interest — server-side analytics (aggregated, no cross-site tracking).
• Consent — Google Analytics 4 / GTM (you choose at the cookie banner).
• Contract performance / pre-contractual — processing your contact form submission to respond.

5. Data retention

Contact form submissions are retained for up to 3 years to support relationship continuity. Analytics data is retained for up to 18 months. You may request deletion at any time (see §8).

6. Third-party services

• Google Tag Manager / GA4 — only loaded after consent; subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• ip-api.com — used server-side for country-level geo lookup; no personally identifiable data is transmitted.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR / UK GDPR you have the right to: access your data, correct inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict or object to processing, and data portability. To exercise any right, contact [email protected].

8. Cookies preference

You can change or withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage and atg_consent key, then refreshing the page. The cookie consent banner will reappear.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in law or our practices. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated date.
